Writing Random Notes of Thanks (pic by some_bo wax seal pic )

November is a month of giving thanks and reflecting on our blessings.  As I scroll through my social media home feed, I’m noticing more and more people are posting something each day this month that they are thankful for.  People are being intentional about thanks.

As I was thinking about thankfulness I began to envision all the people in my life that I am thankful for.  There are my dear friends, my husband, my pastors, my mom and sister.  Then there are those people who are more acquaintances but do something small here and there that makes my life better.  It made me wonder if those people know that I appreciate them?  Does my neighbor know that I appreciate her checking on my dog while I travel?  Does my best friend know that I appreciate that she is just there to let me speak my mind? Does my pastor know that I’m thankful for his commitment to bring God’s truth into my life?  Does anybody know?  Do I ever really tell them?

Reading these posts stirred a little thought in my head.  What if I told them and I did it through random notes of thanks?  What if I became intentional about thanks?  What if I put all my appreciation of them in a note and sent it off?  Would my random letter of thanks bless their day?  Could it simply be the icing on the cake of a good day or a ray of sunshine on a bad day?

Do you have anyone in your life that you want to send a random note of thanks?  If so, all it takes is paper, an envelope and a stamp.  In the digital world we constantly email, message and comment however, when was the last time you wrote a hand written message and sent it via snail mail?  If your super crafty it’s a chance for you to use that Cricut machine you love and make a cute note.  Or if you love stamping, you can get out your rubber stamps and design the card.  Either way, consider taking time in the next few weeks to send out or drop off random notes of thanks to people in your life that bless you.  Tell them what makes them wonderful and why you are thankful that they are in your life.  Who know’s, you might just make someone’s day.  In turn, you might just find yourself feeling pretty blessed to be surrounded by a supportive and loving community of friends, family, neighbors and leaders.
