Unicorns have always been famous mythical creatures; the cool thing is that we have way more options to decorate with these days. I love all the rainbow and glittery items that cover the aisles at the party supply stores. You will see me grinning from ear to ear as I walk with my shopping cart. Here is how I throw a magical unicorn baby shower.
The nice thing about a unicorn baby shower is that you can go with some pastel colors to make the party soft and sweet or go with the bold traditional ones.
Unicorn Baby Shower Invitations:
Since there are so many ways to invite people to events, pick the one that fits your group the best. Are you the style of person that prefers an E-Invite? Would creating a Facebook event help you to know who is coming more accessible? I love handwritten invitations. When all you ever get in the mail is a bill or weekly advertisement, it is exciting to get a unicorn baby shower paper invite.

When decorating the table, it is important to layer. The more billowy and rainbow elements you can add, the better!
Unicorn Baby Shower Food and Drink
You can choose to make your favorites. I always go with my standard Italian antipasto board or an easy cheese, meat, and fruit tray, depending on the guest list. Because of the diversity of people at the event, I decided to go with a delicious and simple spread.
Cheese Tray
Berries will pair well with almost any cheese. I love to utilize fresh berries whenever possible. Choose other fruits if you have something more seasonally appropriate or favorites.
- I first will layer on at least two cheeses. More cheeses will always be acceptable, but whatever your budget dictates.
- For my easy cheese board, I go with aged white cheddar, a Havarti, and a pepper jack.
- I think that sweet and spicy will excite your palate.
- Once the cheeses are on the board, fill in the gaps with the berries, crackers, and spread.
Meat tray
When making a charcuterie board, select different varieties of salamis and whole-meat cuts for the plate. Being that there are so many great options, the possibilities are endless! Look for already sliced meats in the deli or specialty section of your grocery store. My favorites to include:
- Genoa Salami- mild and lightly seasoned
- Calabrese Salami- not too spicy but has a little more kick to it.
- Prosciutto- rich in flavor and texture
- I will incorporate some culinary delights like olives and pickled vegetables too.
Rainbow Fruit Tray
Since the iridescent and rainbow theme is what this party is all about, now is an excellent opportunity to flash those colors. By creating a rainbow fruit tray, you provide a sweet and tart option that is also healthy!
- ROYGBIV is the color pattern for a rainbow
- Red- Strawberries, cherries, and raspberries look great to start.
- Orange- Peaches, oranges, and apricots will be bright and vibrant.
- Yellow- Pineapple and mango bring a tropical twist to the tray.
- Green- Kiwi and green grapes are eye-catching and tangy.
- Blue- well, there isn’t a blue fruit, but blueberries will work in a pinch. lol
- Violet- Purple grapes, blackberries, and dark cherries will be a sweet finishing touch.

This recipe can be made quickly with or without alcohol. If making without alcohol, substitute the champagne or sparkling wine for more lemon-lime soda, orange soda, or my personal favorite, ginger beer.
- A quart of rainbow sherbert
- 1 cup of strawberries
- One sliced lemon
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1/4 sliced grapefruit
- 1/2 cup raspberries
- 3 cups lemon-lime soda
- 6 cups pink lemonade
- One bottle of champagne or sparkling wine (optional)
- If not using wine, then 3 cups of desired fizzy drink.
Unicorn Baby Shower Entertainment
